Thud projects authority and presence on every surface. Designed by Suomi Type Foundry, Thud carries real weight without sacrificing legibility or character. The family comes in seven weights with true italics in each direction, giving designers substantial tonal range for any project. Luc(as) de Groot applied a parabolic formula to the spacing of each weight, so the optical progression between sizes feels intentional and measured rather than arbitrary or jarring.

Originally built for headlines, Thud works beautifully across contexts where impact matters most: book covers, magazine mastheads, album artwork, and event signage. The thoughtful kerning extends its range well beyond typical display work, so you can confidently set larger passages of text without losing control or readability. That versatility is what sets this typeface apart from single-weight display families. With seven weights to choose from, you can push and pull emphasis across your layouts while staying within one cohesive family, creating typographic depth without switching typefaces.

To complement Thud's boldness, pair it with a clean, neutral sans-serif like Open Sans or Source Sans Pro for supporting body text. Find Thud on Creative Fabrica and start exploring its full range of weights.
