Nutcase by ArtyType is a geometric display face built from a hexagonal grid where the center has been strategically removed, creating a distinctive perforated visual signature throughout the alphabet. What began as an experimental concept evolved into a complete working set spanning both uppercase and lowercase, with each letter maintaining the font's structural integrity despite the unconventional construction method. The design required considerable refinement to navigate legibility traps and ensure no character felt compromised by its geometry, but the result reads with more versatility than you'd expect from such a boldly constructed typeface.

This font excels in branding headers for tech-forward companies and digital-native brands, retro gaming poster designs, and indie music album covers where its geometric precision adds instant visual authority. The letterforms also perform surprisingly well for body text in shorter passages, which opens possibilities for boutique event invitations, limited-edition product packaging, and art direction work in tech startup pitch decks. The constructed nature of each character gives any application a deliberately modern, somewhat industrial edge that commands attention without sacrificing legibility.
