The unadorned geometry of ancient Greek stone inscriptions inspired Lithos Pro, Adobe's distinctive display typeface designed by Carol Twombly. This typeface translates that geometric directness into simplified letterforms animated by a subtle asymmetric quality, giving each character presence and visual weight without relying on decoration or ornament.

Lithos Pro performs beautifully for gallery exhibition signage and museum installation labels where clarity needs to feel intentional and refined. Book publishers often reach for it when designing art monographs and photography collections, layering it with serif typefaces for visual contrast and readability. Architects and design studios apply it across cultural institution branding, high-end wine labels, and gallery identity systems that demand understated sophistication without sacrifice. Multiple weights, small caps, small figures, and full Greek language support make the typeface adaptable to both single-language editorial projects and multilingual design systems.

This display typeface suits anyone building visual work that values clarity and cultural integrity over unnecessary decoration and excess. Museum catalogs, gallery posters, and institutional identity systems all benefit from Lithos Pro's deep connection to ancient precision applied to contemporary design problems.
