About Cartridge Font

Inspired by old video game labels, Cartridge is our display sans-serif that evokes quintessential 80s vibes. I was obsessed with the Atari 2600 as a kid, and a recent trip to the local vintage video game store rekindled that—in particular the type found on its chunky, iconic cartridges.

The font features upper and lowercase, numbers, basic punctuation, as well as several alternates that help dial in the genuine feel of early 1980s nostalgia. Included are two weights: Regular and Bold—both in normal and rough styles. There are also six “Easter egg” Bit Monster characters I’ve had kicking around for years that would be right at home in Space Invaders, Galaga, etc.
