There's a carnival energy baked into this typeface, playful and distinctly vintage. VIAREGGIO, created by Hanoded, draws its character from hand-lettered signage printed in 1930s Tuscany during the region's legendary masquerade festival, specifically the posters celebrating the iconic clown Burlamacco and tradition. The bouncy letterforms feel like they're dancing across the page, capturing the theatrical spirit of a celebration steeped in decades of colorful, joyful history.

This is the display font you'll reach for when designing festive event posters, vintage wine bottle labels, upscale theater program covers, and nostalgic cosmetics or perfume packaging. It works equally well on literary book jackets with art deco sensibilities or for established luxury brands seeking to feel simultaneously approachable and distinguished. The typeface supports an extensive range of languages, making it practical for international companies who want to tap into the European carnival aesthetic without sacrificing character or functionality.

Pair Viareggio with a clean, modern sans-serif for body text and longer passages to maintain readability while the display font takes center stage. The contrast between the two strengthens both voices. You'll find it on Creative Fabrica, ready to bring authentic Italian carnival spirit to your next high-impact project.
