TWIRREWYN by Hanoded is a handmade display font born from a playful experiment with unconventional drawing tools. The name comes from Frisian, meaning "Whirlwind," a nod to the designer's connection to the Netherlands and the unique character of that region's language. The typeface carries that spirited energy throughout its letterforms. Its two versions (fat and light) give you genuine design flexibility: the heavier weight was carefully brushed directly onto paper with ink, while the lighter was created using a broken satay skewer as the drawing implement. This hands-on, artisanal approach creates a raw, authentic texture that machine-made fonts simply can't replicate.

The irregular character and tactile quality make TWIRREWYN ideal for projects that celebrate human craft and genuine personality. Consider it for vintage poster designs, artisanal bakery packaging, rustic wedding save-the-dates, and DIY craft event materials. Small businesses selling genuinely handmade goods especially benefit from its honest, unpolished charm. Designers who want their work to feel personal and small-batch rather than corporate will find this family speaks their language. The rough edges and imperfect letterforms aren't flaws, they're features that communicate authenticity and care.
