Imagine working on a high-end wedding stationery suite or developing a luxury skincare brand identity. That's the sweet spot for Smoothy, the two-font display family from designer Ian Barnard. It pairs a mono weight cursive script with a complementary rounded sans-serif, creating a cohesive system that handles both headline drama and supporting text with equal grace. You get the hand-lettered aesthetic without any of the hand-drawing work.

The cursive half is where the magic lives. Its capital letters feature flowing flourishes that work beautifully as standalone monogram marks, adding sophistication to logos and brand identity. This makes the typeface especially strong for wedding invitation suites, luxury cosmetics and skincare packaging, boutique product labels, and high-end greeting card designs. Supporting text falls naturally to the rounded sans-serif, which maintains the overall aesthetic while handling fine print with ease.

What sets this pairing apart is how it performs across sizes. The cursive reads with clarity and style at large display scales, while both styles maintain their character when scaled down for smaller applications. Need that handmade aesthetic in your design toolkit without the actual hand-drawing work? Smoothy delivers it cleanly.
