When you're designing a vintage record cover or a bold editorial headline that needs real command, you want a typeface with backbone. Quadratish Serif, created by Gaslight, is an ultra black serif display font that brings both serious weight and genuine personality to the work.

What makes this font worth attention is its flexible layering approach. You work with a solid version and a separate outlined version, and the moment you overlap them together, you unlock a third distinct visual style that looks hand-drawn and dimensional. That capability alone creates real options for vintage poster design, retro product packaging, stacked headline work, and theatrical promotional pieces where each letter needs to feel sculptural. Magazine covers and book titles that demand boldness also gain depth and character from this layering trick, as do luxury brand logos and editorial spreads built around confident typography.

At this extreme weight, Quadratish Serif holds its shape even when set very large, and the interplay between solid and outlined letterforms gives you room to build visual hierarchy in ways most display typefaces won't allow. Head to Creative Fabrica to add this unique serif to your design library.
