About Ouch!® Std Font
It was a sprained ankle that inspired Joachim Müller-Lancé to design Ouch. During the 1995 ATypI convention, he spent the entire time on crutches, and during his hands-on time in the TypeLab, he says, [I was] inspired to take a fresh and ironic approach to my incapacity. I began to scribble characters made up of a variety of devices - some that I knew first-hand and others I had seen in movies or comics. Ouch is meant to be fun. Use it on Get Well greeting cards, children’s toys and games, or even hospital collateral and signage. After all, sometimes laughter is the best medicine.
