Picture yourself designing a poster for a traveling circus act in the 1890s, and you'll understand exactly why NUMBER 515 exists. Created by Wooden Type Fonts, this display face pulls directly from the wooden type tradition, featuring characteristically oversized, bulbous serifs that commanded serious attention on street corners for decades. The font was designed exclusively for large-scale work, which is why there's no lowercase available. That limitation becomes an advantage when your goal is commanding all-caps impact with genuine historical character.

Vintage theatrical posters benefit immediately from its period authenticity, as do carnival signage and retro event announcements that genuinely need historical texture without feeling forced. Speakeasy menus gain real character from these unusual serifs, and vintage band flyers practically demand this kind of bold personality. Etsy sellers focused on vintage goods and memorabilia rely on NUMBER 515 for period-correct label design, while retro branding studios and packaging designers use it for nostalgic display work that feels earned rather than derivative.

The bulbous serifs remain sharp and readable even at large sizes, which actually improves visual presence when you push the scale. You'll find NUMBER 515 on Creative Fabrica, ready to bring genuine late-19th-century carnival energy to your next design project.
