Mutern VF, designed by Rasmus Andersson and Vølven Skaðadóttir, is a variable display typeface with comprehensive international language coverage spanning 552+ Latin-based languages. Containing 2938 glyphs, it serves designers working across diverse linguistic and cultural contexts worldwide. The variable structure means you can adjust weight and optical characteristics continuously, giving you genuine control over how the typeface sits in any layout from poster scale down to mobile screens. This flexibility makes it particularly useful when your project spans multiple media or channels.

The open-source nature makes Mutern VF accessible regardless of budget constraints. Magazine headers and book covers benefit from a typeface engineered specifically for display work. Environmental signage, poster campaigns, and branding applications all gain from the tonal possibilities a variable font unlocks. Designers shifting between print and digital formats especially appreciate the unified character set and the ability to refine typographic performance without managing multiple distinct font files or weights.

Licensed under the Open Font License, Mutern VF is free for both personal and commercial use. Its architecture of extensive glyphs, variable controls, and open licensing positions it ideally for designers building visual systems that need to maintain consistent character and presence across print, screen, and interactive projects.
