Hotel and Hotel Black are inlined and black variations of a square gothic style typical of Mid-20th Century Showcard Lettering. This genre is commonly known as gaspipe. Samples similar to this still exist on buildings in my home town, Oakland, California.

It was designed in 2012 by Jim Parkinson.
