Hachura catches attention through its deliberately rough, hand-sketched texture that contradicts its classical bones. Designed by Outras Fontes, this typeface marries the proportions of traditional garalde serifs with a deliberately unfinished aesthetic, as if you're looking at an artist's work mid-sketch. The effect is immediate and dynamic without sacrificing the underlying structure that makes serif fonts readable and grounded.

The textured quality makes Hachura sing at display sizes, where its personality becomes impossible to ignore. It works beautifully for editorial headlines, zine covers, artist portfolio headers, and handmade craft branding where that human touch matters. The sketchy marks create visual interest without descending into novelty, so the typeface still reads as intentional rather than gimmicky. What's also surprising is the thoughtful balance of strokes and negative space means it holds up remarkably well even at smaller sizes like 8 or 10 points, giving you real flexibility across different layouts and uses.

This is the typeface for designers and creative professionals who want genuine character without compromising function. It suits anyone creating work that values craft and personality, from indie publishers to small-batch makers. You can grab Hachura on Creative Fabrica, where it's ready to add that sketchy, hand-drawn energy to your next project.
