Graúna, Typeóca's debut serious typeface, takes the blocky geometry of the Heavy weight and strips away the textural roughness that defined the original while preserving its core personality. Rather than following the typical revival path of treating the Block family as a single entity, the designers focused intently on what makes that heavy variant tick, discovering in the process that its distinctive quirk and appeal were deeply rooted in the very texture they intended to remove. This realization pushed them in a different direction, resulting in something entirely new.

The finished typeface is a bold sans serif with impactful letterforms that never feel cold or distant. The confident, architectural quality of each character works beautifully for tech startup logos, event posters, music album artwork, and craft brewery label design. Its heavyweight presence commands attention in headlines and short-form text, making it especially strong for branding work where you need genuine presence without sacrificing personality. The clean geometry translates smoothly across digital and print applications, maintaining its character whether small or large.

Graúna suits any designer or creative director building contemporary brand identities that require both backbone and soul. Find it on Creative Fabrica, ready to license for your next project.
