Gen draws inspiration from the bold, geometric lettering of Soviet-era design, capturing that raw energy through thick strokes and high contrast built into every character. Designed by Gaslight, this wide sans-serif display face embraces a deliberately stripped-down aesthetic that feels both authentically vintage and immediately striking on any page.

What makes Gen work is how it balances refined and rough elements without flinching. The letterforms have a sturdy, confident presence that doesn't overthink itself or shy away from taking up space. Multiple alternate characters give you real options for customizing headlines and adding personality to your typography. The design's strong modularity makes it especially effective for stencil applications, vinyl decal work, laser cutting, and anything requiring cut-based production methods. There's genuine visual weight here, not borrowed from scale alone.

This is the font for protest posters and vintage-inspired zines, for vinyl record sleeve packaging and concert flyer designs. Industrial branding applications benefit from its unflinching approach to form. Boutique retail signage, DIY publication covers, and large-scale architectural lettering all work well when set in Gen. It has the kind of personality that can anchor a design on its own. Grab it on Creative Fabrica when you're ready to bring some edge to your next project.
