Foreplay by Artimasa is a playful retro display typeface with bold, ornamental uppercase letters that capture the unbridled spirit of 1970s and 80s graphic design. The decorative capitals bring instant personality to headlines and carry enough visual weight to anchor an entire composition on their own. Designers reach for this typeface when crafting vintage band merchandise, hand-lettered record store signage, nostalgic concert posters, or boutique packaging that genuinely needs to feel like a relic from a more colorful era. The letterforms also excel as decorative drop caps within longer text blocks, or as bold accents throughout speakeasy branding, thrift store aesthetics, and retro-themed social media campaigns where a touch of theatrical confidence makes the difference.

The practical versatility of Foreplay becomes clear once you start working with it. Pair those ornate capitals with cleaner, more restrained typefaces to let the display letters shine as true focal points, or use them to set entire short copy blocks in full period character. Each character carries genuine typographic presence without ever feeling forced or overwrought. Available in both OTF and TTF formats, the typeface integrates smoothly into any design workflow.
