EtBoemieRex is a display Gothic typeface designed by Pia Frauss. With its sharp, angular letterforms rooted in Gothic calligraphy, this typeface brings a dramatic and distinctly medieval sensibility to designs demanding visual impact and atmosphere. The 361 glyphs included offer robust character coverage, supporting 280+ languages across Latin-based scripts, making it surprisingly accessible for international projects despite its ornate, shadowy aesthetic. Each letter carries considerable weight and architectural presence, the kind of presence that works harder than a neutral sans-serif can manage, commanding attention through sheer typographic character.

This font excels when you need historical or dark visual authority, and its narrow, pointed letterforms lend themselves perfectly to specific applications. Consider it for Etsy shop headers selling vintage or goth merchandise, band poster artwork that demands immediate attention, book covers for fantasy or mystery novels, and tattoo flash designs where the letterforms themselves become visual ornament. The regular weight provides bold impact without requiring additional font weights to achieve presence on the page or screen.

Because EtBoemieRex is free for personal use only (commercial licenses are available from the designer), verify your project's licensing requirements before deploying it. Choose this font over standard display defaults when you want unmistakably Gothic character that establishes mood instantly, rather than the neutral contemporary look of safer alternatives. Use it for designs that lean into historical styling or dark themes, where the letterforms themselves become part of the message.
