A Brush Font in the Tradition of Classic Hand-Painted Signs
Introducing an industrious font system drawn in the tradition of hand-painted signs and commercial brush lettering. Captain Casual includes regular lowercase letters and all-caps options, along with a collection of decorative underlines and shapes, making it a crucial addition to your toolbox.
Seen decorating America’s most design-savvy storefronts, billboards, and work vehicles, the brush-lettering style referred to as ‘Casual’ represents an essential tool in the sign painter’s arsenal, combining the appearance of laid-back cool with a legibility that means business. Through extensive research into the working processes and characteristics of hand-brushed lettering, I’ve created my own Casual font design, transferring the best of these human elements into an accessible font system that makes the ‘sign painter look’ available to all.
Captain Casual Regular offers a complete set of uppercase and lowercase characters, along with numerals, punctuation, symbols, and language support; plus the all-caps variant is ready and waiting in your toolbox when you need it. You’ll also find included a collection of decorative underlines and symbols for added flourishes.
It’s a highly adaptable design that reads well in sizes large and small, perfect for everything from diners to drag strips and a worthy addition to your font library.
