You're designing a poster for an underground hip-hop event, and you need type that reads as hand-painted and raw. Brother in Crime, created by Bdstrd Std, is a brush typeface drawn directly from street art traditions in Bandung, Indonesia. Instead of sanitizing graffiti for commercial use, the designer preserved the unpolished character of the original wall art, keeping each stroke's irregular energy completely intact.

This font belongs on projects where authenticity matters more than polish. Event promotion flyers for music venues and skate shops gain immediate visual credibility from its hand-drawn origins. Band merchandise and clothing labels benefit from the hand-painted texture, bringing energy to product packaging and printed tags. Zine covers and DIY publication layouts feel genuinely more engaging with these weathered letterforms. Underground magazine mastheads work especially well when paired with gritty documentary photography and unfiltered subject matter. Each stroke's visible quality reminds viewers that human hands shaped these letters.

The imperfect quality that stems from actual street art means the font carries personality that polished display typefaces often lack. Those brush marks and jagged edges perform at their best when used at large sizes, where the visual interest becomes an asset rather than a liability. Find it on Creative Fabrica.
