Ahkio brings a warm, nostalgic charm that feels both handcrafted and genuinely refined. Created by Mika Melvas, this brushed script family draws its spirit from 1930s showcard lettering and sign painting, reimagined for contemporary work. The soft, rounded letterforms and gently curved strokes give it a distinctly friendly personality that works best in projects where authentic warmth and character matter.

The five-weight system makes it genuinely versatile for layering type and creating visual interest. You can run it bold for wedding invitation suites and boutique skincare packaging where you need that playful charm to really stand out, or dial it back for handmade soap labels, vintage-style menu designs, and indie record cover layouts where subtlety counts. Its brushed disconnected structure keeps it feeling organic rather than polished, which resonates especially well with handmade and artisanal brands. The lighter weights work well for supporting text and section breaks, while the bolder weights command attention as focal points. You'll also get black and white manicule ornaments (accessible via OpenType stylistic sets) that add decorative flourishes when you need small accents.

Pair Ahkio with a clean, modern sans-serif for body copy to let it focus on headlines where its personality shines best. You'll find it on Creative Fabrica.
