A designer working on streetwear branding reaches for lettering that feels as confident and energetic as the brand itself. Abakura, from Cikareotype Studio, is a handwritten brush typeface built for that exact need. It captures the raw urgency of street tags and fast hand-drawn writing, with natural pressure shifts and intentional irregularities that make each letter feel genuinely alive.

The typeface shines across projects demanding bold visual presence: skateboard graphics, vinyl record cover design, streetwear hang tags, and music venue posters all gain from its expressive weight and kinetic energy. The imperfect character shapes feel authentic without sacrificing readability, a balance many brush fonts struggle with. At display sizes or scaled down for apparel labels and social graphics, the letterforms retain their brush texture and punch. You get the full character set with uppercase, lowercase, numbers, and punctuation, plus multilingual support for international campaigns and global brands.

This is functional design, not decorative filler. Both OTF and TTF formats ship with the typeface, giving you flexibility across your design tools and software. The raw energy makes it especially strong for brands with attitude (think streetwear labels, music merchandise, or urban lifestyle work). Grab Abakura on Creative Fabrica when you need lettering that demands attention.
