A luxury cosmetics brand's new product line needs distinctive lettering on its bottles and boxes, something hand-crafted yet refined. Silesianum, created by MACHALSKI, provides exactly that. This display font represents a contemporary revival of a Polish typography landmark, restoring Henryk Sakwerda's distinctive 1986 design to modern use with weights and flexibility the original never had.

Silesianum excels on high-end cosmetics packaging, wine and craft beverage labels, art book covers, and museum exhibition posters. What makes it work across these distinct applications is that sharp, organic character defining each letterform. Sakwerda developed this distinctive calligraphic texture within strict phototypesetting constraints, which became an artistic advantage rather than a limitation. Four working weights (Regular, Medium, SemiBold, Bold) plus matching italics give you real flexibility to build complete editorial systems or packaging hierarchies while maintaining that handmade quality throughout.

Large display sizes reveal the typeface's real strength, where flowing curves and precise edges create visual interest with genuine intention. Silesianum stands apart from countless overused display fonts through its Polish heritage and meticulous restoration from original source materials.
