This typeface radiates geometric precision with an unexpected cultural depth. MACHALSKI created Harpagan after travels through Kyrgyzstan, Uzbekistan, and Kazakhstan, drawing inspiration from the striking interplay between Arabic and Asian-influenced Cyrillic scripts woven throughout Central Asia. The experimental type family offers five distinct weights that scale from delicate linear forms to bold, commanding display sizes, with comprehensive support for Latin, Cyrillic, and Greek scripts.

Harpagan performs beautifully in modern music festival posters, contemporary book covers for literary fiction and design publications, high-end tech startup identities, and avant-garde editorial layouts where geometric boldness needs to speak with personality and cultural awareness. Its construction feels deliberately engineered yet carries the cultural resonance of Central Asia, giving it distinctive character that separates it from standard geometric grotesques. Apply it to headlines, build complete typographic systems with it, or use it as a display accent; the typeface maintains remarkable presence and clarity across all applications and scales.

Pair Harpagan with a clean, minimal sans-serif for body text to keep focus on this typeface's geometric vocabulary in display contexts. The design earned recognition at TDC Ascenders 2018, and you can access all five styles through Creative Fabrica.
