Quirky and wonderfully unconventional, Ray Johnson captures the spirit of mail art history through a distinctive blocky typeface. Created by K-Type, this font draws directly from the correspondence practices of legendary artist Ray Johnson, who famously adorned his mailings with stamped bunny portraits and hand-lettered names. It's a font with genuine cultural roots, not just decorative flourish.

The typeface excels in specific applications where retro character matters: mail art postcards sent in batches to fellow artists, vintage greeting card designs that reject polish for personality, indie zine headers that demand attention, DIY collage projects calling for authentic handmade feel, gallery labels, limited edition product packaging, and small-press book covers. What sets this font apart is the bonus material included, scalable vector graphics of blank bunny heads and additional Ray Johnson imagery that let you build more complex designs without hunting for supplementary assets.

Pair Ray Johnson with a straightforward geometric sans serif when you need readable body text to balance its boldness. The combination of playful display type and neutral supporting text creates visual hierarchy that works across print and digital mediums.
