Chunk Type is a decorative regular font designed by John Bruce. This typewriter-influenced design merges mechanical character with ornamental flair, creating a distinctive visual voice that combines nostalgic charm with contemporary edge and dimensional depth.

Particularly well-suited for vintage-inspired posters, indie publishing and small press projects, scrapbooking and mixed-media collage work, this font delivers the personality and visual presence that creative branding demands. Its mechanical undertones lend authentic character to everything from comic book and graphic novel lettering to quirky product labels, vintage ephemera designs, and retro-themed packaging and merchandise. Decorative flourishes prevent the typeface from feeling purely industrial or coldly mechanical, instead offering real warmth and visual interest that engages viewers immediately. Its chunky, dimensional quality makes it particularly effective as a strong focal point in layouts where visual impact matters most. With comprehensive support for 107+ Latin-based languages, Chunk Type serves designers and makers working across diverse global markets and regions worldwide.

The font is free for personal use only; commercial projects require a licence from the designer. Pair it with a quiet, neutral sans-serif in supporting text to let this font's distinctive character shine in headlines and large display work.
