ZAMENHOF by CastleType is a bold, geometric display family inspired by early twentieth-century Russian hand-lettering. Built on the foundation of Jakob Erbar's Phosphor, it represents a fascinating cross-cultural translation: a Latin interpretation of a Cyrillic reinterpretation of Latin type design. The five-font collection offers substantial variety, with Inline and Inverse working as fully realized standalone options for dramatic headlines and commanding typographic compositions.

The real innovation lies in its layering system. Plain and Outline variants were created specifically to stack with the primary designs as underlay and overlay elements, building letterforms with genuine visual depth. Adobe InDesign and Photoshop support this layer-based approach, making it possible to create sophisticated multi-dimensional book covers, album packaging that demands attention, intricate editorial spreads, and branding systems with considerable presence.

Language coverage spans most European alphabets, modern Greek, Russian, and the full Cyrillic range, plus Esperanto support (fitting for a typeface named after the constructed language's founder). From literary fiction covers to retro concert posters, music branding to publication design systems, Zamenhof carries both substance and personality.
