This font has an eerie, hand-drawn edge that grabs attention immediately. Varmint, designed by chatype studio, is a display script that carries the moody, organic feel of brush lettering with a distinctly spooky character woven throughout.

Perfect for Halloween party invitations, gothic brand logos, vintage horror movie posters, and eerie greeting cards, Varmint brings real character to projects that lean into mystery and dark aesthetics. The handwritten quality gives it unexpected warmth despite its sinister vibe, making it surprisingly versatile for seasonal campaigns, boutique packaging with an edge, alternative product labels, and signature-style branding for independent studios. Because the brush-like strokes feel organic rather than digital, the font reads as authentic even on smaller surfaces. SVG support ensures crisp rendering on both screen and print applications.

Finding the right partner font matters with something this distinctive. Pair it with a clean, geometric sans-serif for your body text and supporting hierarchy, which keeps readability sharp while Varmint's mysterious flair dominates wherever it counts. This contrast approach works especially well for packaging design, event marketing, and brand identities that need balance between theatrical and accessible.
