TessieXtraBirds by Ingrimayne Type is a tessellating dingbat font built around interlocking bird shapes that fit together without gaps or overlaps. Think of it as having that mathematical, Escher-like visual logic where each glyph locks perfectly with its neighbors. The designer spent two decades refining these shapes through work on maze books, coloring books, and tessellation projects, and that precision shows in how cleanly everything aligns.

You get two distinct styles here: solid and outline. The solid version is designed to be filled with color, and the outline style sits on top for layering and depth. They work beautifully together or separately, depending on the effect you're going for. One technical note worth remembering: set your line height equal to your point size so the rows grid correctly. This careful engineering makes building repeating patterns straightforward without manual alignment fixes.

The font excels for coloring page designs, intricate wallpaper backgrounds, scrapbooking layouts, and textile or packaging pattern mockups. If you're working on maze designs or patterned surface work, you'll appreciate how the tessellating logic eliminates alignment headaches. The interlocking quality means you can build complex geometric compositions quickly and confidently. Download TessieXtraBirds on Creative Fabrica and start creating patterned designs.
