This typeface radiates a playful, handcrafted warmth. Smiling Cat, created by Hanoded, is an evolution of the designer's earlier Harimau Dua, developed after receiving many requests for a bolder iteration. Rather than simply extending the original font family, Hanoded chose to rebuild it entirely, redrawing glyphs, adjusting the spacing, and creating a distinct new typeface that stands on its own.

The font excels for children's book covers, whimsical greeting card suites, and playful packaging designed for kids' brands and indie toy makers. It works just as well for DIY craft labels, handmade storybook illustrations, and nursery room signs where that deliberately imperfect, drawn-by-hand quality becomes the whole point. The character set includes a complete range of diacritics, supporting multiple languages without compromise. That quirky personality never reads as forced; it feels genuine, lending any project an honest, handmade character.

Pair it with a clean, minimal sans-serif like Open Sans for body text and layouts where readability matters. It balances the playful energy at the heading level while keeping the overall design accessible. Find Smiling Cat on Creative Fabrica to bring this charm into your next project.
