Radiant CT Extra Cond by CastleType is a condensed display typeface built on Robert Middleton's 1940 design, softened with rounded corners that distinguish it from other digitized versions. Originally commissioned to digitize the bold weight for newspaper printing, the typeface eventually grew into a three-weight family with Light, Medium, and Bold options. The rounded letterforms warm up what could otherwise feel rigid, and complete Cyrillic alphabet support means it works equally well in international editorial and branding work.

This typeface shines in editorial headlines squeezed into narrow columns, luxury wine labels where layout space is severely limited, vintage event posters seeking genuine mid-century authenticity, and boutique cosmetics packaging that demands character without harshness. The softened geometry avoids the starkness of purely angular condensed faces, which makes it flexible enough for custom logotypes with heritage brands and magazine covers that need visual presence without coldness. Hierarchy becomes easy when three weights let you shift emphasis across a headline or title sequence without losing the typeface's defining compression. Anyone working regularly with condensed display faces should consider keeping this in their library.
