Picture a vintage record shop's window display, with bold typography screaming the name of this month's featured artist. That's where Patagon, a contemporary woodtype sans from Latinotype (designed by Daniel Hernandez, Miguel Hernandez, and Luciano Vergara), thrives. This typeface was built for sentences that need to grab attention and hold it, blending woodtype geometry with modern sensibilities in a way that doesn't feel precious or dated.

The three weights (condensed, regular, and extended) give you real flexibility for layout work. Concert posters, museum exhibition announcements, vintage-inspired packaging for craft beverages, and editorial magazine spreads all benefit from Patagon's confident, structured presence. The uppercase ornamental alternates add another dimension: you can swap standard letterforms for decorative glyphs to create elaborate headers or textured patterns that feel handmade without requiring hand lettering skills.

What makes this family particularly useful is how the condensed version punches through tight spaces on product labels and social media graphics, while the extended weight dominates large-scale applications like billboard advertising or book covers. The ornamental alternates work best at display sizes, where their intricate detail reads clearly rather than becoming visual noise. Get Patagon on Creative Fabrica and start composing bold, character forward designs that demand to be seen.
