There's something undeniably charming about the visual language of old cinema. Newsreel Caps JNL, designed by Jeff Levine Fonts, houses each letter within individual film strip frames, inspired by vintage sheet music from the movie "Fox Movietone Follies" (a knowing nod to the studio's legendary Fox Movietone News newsreel series).

The letterforms themselves are detailed and purposeful in their execution. Capitals display black outline letters on white backgrounds, while the lowercase characters invert this with white lettering on black frames for striking visual contrast. Add a blank white frame (period key) and a blank black frame (comma key), and you have everything needed to construct sequences that genuinely read like frames from actual film stock. This opens many doors for retro movie night posters, vintage film festival programs, cinema-themed scrapbooking and collage work, and theatrical marquee-style signage. Use individual letters as bold graphic accents throughout a layout, or set them tight together to form a continuous strip effect.

Pair this with a straightforward sans-serif for body text, keeping readers comfortable while the novelty letterforms command visual attention as focal points. Grab it on Creative Fabrica and add some old-school movie magic to your next project.
