Picture yourself designing a 1970s revival menu or laying out an ornate wedding announcement. Hayden Pro, created by designer Martin Wait, is a condensed calligraphic typeface that strikes an unusual balance: it feels formal and refined without the visual heaviness of traditional gothic letterforms. This distinction matters when you need period authenticity without overwhelming your composition, and it's this restraint that makes the typeface work across different applications.

The capitals work beautifully as ornamental initials for chapter openers and announcement headings, inviting readers into formal content while maintaining clarity. Wedding invitation suites, boutique restaurant menus, vintage-style branding campaigns, and theatrical programs all benefit from this typeface's balanced proportions. At large display sizes, it reads with surprising clarity, and the condensed letterforms fit efficiently into space-conscious layouts. Magazine mastheads and film titling also thrive here, offering formal character without the heavy visual weight of traditional blackletter.

Both uppercase and lowercase letters carry that same compressed structure, maintaining visual consistency across longer passages. You get everything you need, from individual ornamental initials to full blocks of running text. Pick up Hayden Pro on Creative Fabrica and bring period-appropriate sophistication to your next project.
