The broad, sturdy letterforms of this wood type design capture the golden age when newspapers truly dominated the printed landscape across America. Jeff Levine drew inspiration from actual headlines appearing in vintage daily papers, carefully translating that bold industrial character into a modern typeface that retains its authentic soul. Final Edition JNL carries the weight and presence you'd expect from a typeface designed for newsprint, but without the dated feel that sometimes comes with direct historical revivals.

This sans grotesque works beautifully for retro event posters, newspaper masthead recreations, and vintage-style signage projects. It's equally at home on old-fashioned apothecary labels, speakeasy bar menus, or classic boxing match advertisements. The sturdy proportions give designs an editorial confidence that feels right for vintage book covers and nostalgic product packaging. Because it's rooted in real-world printing history, the forms have excellent legibility that works across both display sizes and smaller text applications.

Best suited for designers building authentically vintage aesthetics, this typeface delivers genuine character without requiring you to hunt through archives or sacrifice usability.
