Dave Gibbons by Comicraft is a hand-lettered decorative typeface capturing the authentic energy of professional comic book lettering. The rounded, bulging letterforms bring genuine character and warmth to the page, with the organic quality that comes from decades of work lettering major comic book titles including Batman and Star Wars projects.

What sets this apart from typical decorative fonts is the source: this is actual lettering used by a working comic artist, not a stylized interpretation created by algorithm. The letterforms have the kind of personality you get when someone draws letterforms day in and day out within tight panel spaces and deadline pressure. Indie comic covers, graphic novel title treatments, and comic store signage all benefit from the authenticity here. You'll also find it works beautifully for vintage movie poster designs, comic-inspired product labels, and alternative packaging where you need that handmade feel without the production cost of actual hand-lettering.

The rounded forms are what inspired the name (Gibbous means protuberant and bulging), and they serve a purpose beyond aesthetics. Visual interest and personality shine through without compromising readability. If you're building designs that need authentic comic book character and you want something built by someone who actually works in the field, pick up Dave Gibbons on Creative Fabrica.
