You're designing a haunted house flyer and need type that screams unsettling without leaning into cartoonish territory. Darkmode, created by WAP, is a horror gothic typeface that captures raw, hand-drawn urgency and visual chaos. The typeface draws from gothic aesthetics, protest imagery, and classic horror cinema, translating those influences into letterforms that feel irregular and unstable. Its brushed construction gives each character a sketch-like quality where no two strokes feel identical, bringing authenticity to dark, edgy design work.

This typeface excels for horror movie posters, Halloween party invitations, video game UI lettering, and band album covers where raw energy and visual grit matter more than refinement. Album artwork in particular benefits from Darkmode's unpolished character; the font reads as both deliberate and chaotic, which works perfectly for metal bands, indie horror games, and underground music labels. Clothing graphics and merchandise labels also gain from this typeface's hand-made feel, since screen printing and embroidery actually enhance that DIY aesthetic. Event signage for haunted attractions and escape rooms gains credibility through its unrefined, authentic presence.

At large display sizes, brush-style strokes become a feature rather than a flaw, delivering personality that feels earned and deliberate. Pick up Darkmode on Creative Fabrica to add this distinctive gothic voice to your darker projects.
