Controller Ext by Dharma Type manages that tricky balance between mechanical precision and genuine human warmth. This geometric rounded sans-serif draws from late 20th-century West Coast design language, where technical forms and organic sensibility collided in interesting ways. It reads as contemporary and approachable rather than sterile or corporate.

The family delivers five weights with matching obliques, plus extended styles that give you real design flexibility across multiple formats. You also get an alternate uppercase N through OpenType features, letting you fine-tune the character for specific contexts or single words. The rounded geometry sits in that sweet spot: geometric enough to feel modern and structured, rounded enough to keep warmth and avoid harshness.

This works beautifully for tech startup branding and visual identity systems, app interfaces and dashboard design, or as a header font in editorial layouts and magazine spreads. Contemporary packaging projects benefit from its balance too, especially for lifestyle and wellness brands that want warmth without sacrificing polish or sophistication. Pair Controller Ext with a clean serif or practical sans-serif for any body text to create visual hierarchy and breathing room.
