Butterfield is a decorative typeface designed by The Scriptorium that blends fancy and groovy aesthetics into a single, cohesive Regular weight. This ornamental face brings a distinctly playful retro energy to projects that demand personality, visual warmth, and a touch of nostalgic charm that speaks to audiences seeking something beyond conventional typography.

The font excels in applications where decorative flair drives the design brief: vintage poster campaigns, groovy event flyers and concert promotions, retro band logos and album artwork, and decorative scrapbooking layouts where a whimsical touch enhances storytelling and visual impact. With support for 104+ Latin-based languages, Butterfield adapts well to international branding projects, allowing designers to maintain consistent visual identity across multiple language markets without sacrificing aesthetic coherence. The 90 glyph set provides the core characters needed for most decorative work, offering sufficient variety for headlines, display text, and embellishment without the unnecessary bloat that could clutter or overwhelm a composition.

Available as a free download from this page, Butterfield's licence terms restrict commercial use and should be reviewed before projects intended for paid work or client licensing. Select this typeface for creative projects where retro aesthetics, handcrafted warmth, and playful decoration stand as central, defining elements rather than supplementary visual gestures.
