About Blackflag Armada Font

Blackflag Armada is a tall blackletter display face with sharp ink-trap terminals and a heavy upright stroke.
The capitals stack like banners vertical, narrow, dense and the lowercase keeps the same weight without softening the rhythm. Diagonals are clipped, joints are blunt, and the negatives between strokes are kept minimum so a word reads as one solid block rather than a row of letters. The result is a face that wants to be set big, in a single colour, with weight to spare.
It is the kind of lettering you can picture inked across the back of a denim jacket at the front of a pit, or across the cover of a record where the band's name has to read from the other side of the room.
