1 / 6About Ascetica Font
Ascética is a font family with a geometric sans serif style, developed by professor Fabio Ares and the Typography Chair (DDCV, FDA, UNLP), especially in commemoration of 60 years of design careers at the Faculty of Arts of the National University of La Plata. Ornaments: Octavio Osores, Gastón Lugano, Walter Chaves & María Laura Motta.
Its morphology is based on the formal proposals of Concrete Invention Art and the Ulm School, closely linked to the ideas that led to the creation and evolution of these careers.
The incorporation of ink traps suggests the idea of three-dimensionality.
It currently has 16 variables, four of tone, four of inclination and one of shape (rounded). It is also accompanied by a set of ornaments with a concrete air that can be used as an icon or grouped to compose borders and/or boxes.
