Wickerton by stompstock is a slab-serif with the rough authenticity of vintage letterpress and hand-painted signage. The typeface sits somewhere between industrial toughness and refined detail, with distressed edges and irregular character shapes that feel intentional rather than accidental. This tension between polish and wear gives it real presence without tipping into caricature or novelty.

Use it for heritage brand identities, vintage whiskey labels, or craft brewery packaging where you need to suggest history without looking contrived. It works equally well on rustic restaurant menus, antique shop signage, and old-cinema-style posters. The weathered surface catches light differently at different sizes, which matters if you're setting it large for maximum impact. The character weight feels right for logos too, holding its personality even when scaled small. The type family includes multiple weights and a full character set that handles extended Latin, so you can adapt the voice across headlines and body copy without losing its character.

The hand-drawn quality stops it from reading as purely decorative or costume-y. Instead, it grounds contemporary designs in something genuine and unpretentious. There's real craft in the letterforms rather than digital afterthought. Get Wickerton on Creative Fabrica and test it against your next project that needs to feel both timeless and real.
