Tannen by Rafael Jordan is a bold blackletter display that brings geometric angularity and real personality to its letterforms. Inspired by Emil Meyer's classic Tannenberg, this design strips away curves for a cleaner, more graphic feel while keeping the expressive character blackletter is known for. The result feels contemporary without sacrificing that gothic edge. You'll find it works beautifully on vintage band posters, tattoo lettering references, moody gothic event invitations, and dark fantasy book covers where visual impact and attitude genuinely matter to the work.

The architecture here is built for flexibility. Three independent styles (regular, inline, and shadow) layer and combine with each other in different ways, plus a dedicated stencil option adds another dimension to your toolkit. Each style comes in three weights, giving you real room to establish hierarchy and play with emphasis across your design. The font is packed with OpenType features including ligatures, alternates, and fractions that add visual refinement to type work, and comprehensive multilingual support covers dozens of Latin-based languages for international clients.

If you're hunting for a blackletter that actually says something instead of just looking historically accurate, Tannen deserves a spot in your collection. Pick it up on Creative Fabrica and see how those layering options transform your work.
