The friendly, rounded letterforms of SB Bebop, designed by SelfBuild Type Foundry, sit somewhere between hand-drawn comics and classic cartoon signage. This display typeface trades formality for personality, giving your work an immediate sense of humor and warmth without tipping into pure caricature. What sets it apart is the extensive set of alternate characters for most letters, letting you swap in different versions of the same glyph to add genuine variety and visual rhythm across your compositions without needing to layer or mix multiple fonts together.

The typeface comes in two complete versions: a clean render for crisp, polished applications, and a distressed companion that mimics aged paper and the worn texture of old letterpress impressions. That rougher variant shines particularly well in vintage comic book lettering, retro travel poster designs, hand-drawn children's picture book covers, and boutique packaging projects where intentional imperfection reads as authentic charm and character. The alternates give you legitimate flexibility for graphic novel title treatments, zine layouts, indie game interface text, and vintage band poster lettering. Having this range of options means you can substantially customize your work without hunting for supplementary fonts or creative workarounds.
