Sarmal, designed by Ahmet Altun, is a display typeface built around intelligent ligatures that integrate naturally into the letterforms without calling excessive attention to themselves. This is not a font that tries to wow you with decoration for decoration's sake. Instead, the ligatures function as genuine design tools that solve real typographic problems when you need a touch of personality alongside legibility.

What sets Sarmal apart is how the letterforms balance boldness with restraint. You get enough character to make event posters and merchandise packaging visually distinctive without the typeface pushing so hard that it becomes a liability. Indie band concert flyers come alive with it. Custom skateboard graphics feel right. Handmade product labels for small makers selling on Etsy or craft fairs have that touch of intentionality that shows someone cared about the details. Vinyl record sleeves and book jacket designs also benefit from its particular blend of presence and readability.

Display fonts like this live or die based on versatility, and Sarmal handles both large and small applications with confidence. Build your next visual project around it if you want something that stands out while staying functional. Grab Sarmal on Creative Fabrica to add it to your active toolbox.
