Playful and organic, Mr Dodo brings a hand-drawn warmth that feels genuinely handcrafted rather than algorithmic. Created by Hipopotam Studio, this typeface family includes four distinct weights, each paired with a rounded companion, giving you eight complete styles to mix and match.

What sets Mr Dodo apart is its approach to drawing. Each character was individually hand-crafted and deliberately left un-interpolated, which means the letterforms stay irregular and lively instead of falling into the sterile consistency that interpolation tends to create. You get up to three alternate glyphs per character, and there's an intelligent OpenType Contextual Alternates feature built in that automatically rotates letterforms based on their frequency in the text. Even in web fonts across HTML5 browsers, the feature avoids random cycling and instead makes thoughtful substitutions so repeated letters never feel like stiff copies standing side by side.

This font thrives in children's picture books, comic book lettering, rustic event invitations, and custom product packaging where handmade character matters. It works equally well for craft projects, DIY signage, and anywhere else you want warmth and personality. Pair Mr Dodo with a clean, neutral sans-serif for body copy, and you've created a genuine visual partnership. Get it on Creative Fabrica to explore all eight styles for your next design.
