Mirabel by Canada Type is a handwritten script rooted in Beverly Bouwsma's personal writing from the 1930s. What began as an act of teenage creative defiance eventually became a refined typeface when her son Philip adapted her hand-lettering decades later, preserving the authentic warmth of the script she'd perfected with an Osmiroid fountain pen adopted in the 1960s. That pen became her trusted tool for writing every day, and you can see its influence in every stroke.

The release includes two complementary versions that work in tandem to honor Beverly's unique style: one version leans toward classical elegance and clarity, prioritizing legibility without losing character, while the other keeps more of her spontaneous, flowing personality intact. Both preserve the distinctive mix of looping flourishes and clean straight strokes that make her handwriting instantly recognizable. You'll find these fonts perfect for personalized wedding invitation suites, boutique product labels for small-batch skincare or craft brands, handmade greeting cards that feel genuinely personal, and decorative gift tags or event programs designed to emphasize authenticity over sterile polish.

Mirabel covers a wide range of character sets, including Central and Eastern European languages, Turkish, Baltic, Celtic, and Esperanto, making it practical across borders and all popular font formats.
