Mimpi Buruk by Hatf Type is a blackletter display font engineered for genuine horror design work. The letterforms embrace rough, corroded surfaces that feel chiseled directly from shadow, with each character carrying menace through jagged edges and a worn, nearly destructive visual quality. There's nothing polished or decorative here, just raw weight and structural decay embedded into every stroke and curve.

This typeface anchors horror film posters with natural authority, and the same aggressive personality translates beautifully across heavy metal album artwork, Halloween merchandise labels, video game title screens, concert posters for gothic and industrial music acts, and escape room promotional materials that need to telegraph dread convincingly. Dark fantasy book covers and tattoo shop logos benefit equally from its refusal to soften or compromise the vision. The font maintains solid readability when necessary while projecting an authentically unsettling visual presence throughout.

What makes Mimpi Buruk genuinely distinct is how structural its grittiness truly is. The decay isn't applied as surface decoration; it lives in the skeleton of the typeface itself. Designers fatigued by horror fonts that feel precious or over-designed will notice this difference immediately when they set their first headline. This is a font that commits fully to its vision rather than hedging with ornamental flourishes or unnecessary softening.
