Picture yourself designing a bold comic book poster or vintage record sleeve and needing type that feels genuinely rooted in seventies letterpress culture. Earth A.D., created by The Fontry, captures exactly that energy. The name itself signals the collection's inspiration: a typeface family built from the hand-lettered pages of comic artists combined with the sturdy gothics that signwriters laid down in decades past.

This is a display family that reads loud and clear at any size. Comic book poster art, vintage record sleeves, retro metal signage, and punk venue flyers all benefit from Earth A.D.'s chunky, no-nonsense character. The designer sourced letterforms from authentic sources throughout design history, pulling lowercase styles from 1930s-40s sign painting and even lifting the numbers straight from vintage truck speedometers. That grounded approach shows in every glyph. The typeface has earned genuine traction in signshops worldwide since the late nineties, proving its staying power with designers who value substance over trends.

The complete family contains seven fonts, all tightly kerned and built for impact at large sizes. These typefaces scale beautifully across headlines and display applications, giving you flexibility within a cohesive visual system.
