Drakenhold is a bold, densely weighted blackletter designed by Dansdesign that channels medieval intensity through modern, street-ready sensibilities. The letterforms sit thick and commanding, with the characteristic Gothic weight that refuses to whisper or apologize. This is a typeface built to demand visual attention in virtually any context, from print to digital display.

This font thrives in projects where darkness and edge function as core design assets rather than occasional flourishes. Tattoo flash sheets and heavy metal band logos are natural homes for its aesthetic, as are horror movie posters built on visceral impact and streetwear graphics that demand serious visual authority. Vinyl record covers, graphic novel title pages, dark fantasy book covers, and boutique apparel labels all benefit from what Drakenhold brings to the table. The character set is fully PUA encoded, meaning you can access alternates and special glyphs without hunting through menus or workarounds, just straightforward keystrokes.

Drakenhold works best for designers building entire visual identities rooted in gothic, punk, or dark fantasy aesthetics. Tattoo studios, indie game projects, metal and horror merchandise designers, and apparel brands all have compelling reasons to add this font to their toolkit.
