Darka by Sudtipos is a blackletter with gothic, medieval roots and strong personality. The typeface merges influences from Textura, Fraktur, and Bâtarde into something that functions both as historical homage and contemporary statement, with sharp terminals and fluid letterforms that balance danger with scholastic weight. Beginning as calligraphic handwriting, Darka evolved into digital form while retaining the tension and delicate character of its hand-drawn origins.

This typeface demands to be used in work that carries intention. Wedding invitation suites gain formality and intrigue, while vintage wine labels, occult branding projects, and specialty book headers take on gravitas they wouldn't otherwise achieve. The alternate glyphs and flourishes preserve its hand-lettered pedigree without compromising readability, performing with crisp clarity even when used in short text settings. From tattoo design portfolios to gothic event posters to luxury packaging, Darka brings that medieval voice wherever you need it. The Type Directors Club of New York awarded this design an Award of Excellence for how well it balances historical tradition with genuine personality. Get Darka on Creative Fabrica and add that medieval voice to your next project.
